When we talk about the P90X lean workout program, there are several things I want to emphasize. I will start by reviewing the program objectively based on the merits and design. I will later get down to my personal opinions on the program and how I felt about the use.

What is P90X program?

For those who don’t know yet, P90X stands for the Power 90 Extreme workout. This special program was created by Tony Horton and later produced by BeachBody. Tony Horton is a renowned fitness instructor who has over the time developed a number of home fitness training programs.

However, this is the most popular of all his home fitness training programs. Whether this programs works or not is a debate that sprouted immediately this program was brought forward.

It is also a source of confusion especially among the people who are seeking to start with the P90X. The best thing about this program is that BeachBody has given us a couple of options when it comes to your approach with P90X.

You can choose between P90X lean (mostly cardio and exercises for lean muscles building), classic (some cardio, push-ups, pull-ups, and heavy strength training) and doubles (same as classic with a doubled time of exercising).

The product has a great layout but the reality of the matter is that it is designed to burn fat and build lean muscles. This program delivers on this quite well.

It replaces one heavy resistance workout with the core synergistic and replaces the killer polymeric workout with the much easier cardio X. This ensures that you get an easier overall workout experience.

If you listen closely to what creators talk about, you will probably notice that this program is thought to offer more than you could expect. Although many of the things they talk about are not achievable, in my humble opinion I believe they deliver on most of them.

Even with much respect offered to the author, I personally think that this program is not developed for everyone. Most of the people usually try this program but the end results are not as they expected.

I usually think that if you want to gain size and enjoy variety, go with the GYM. If you want to lose fat and at the same time gain muscles and maintain your weight, go with the P90X classic program. If you want to lose some weight and get a little bit of muscle, then you can try P90X lean workout. But if your goal is to cleanse your body and lose a lot of weight fast, you should consider doing a detox. What does the product include?

This product requires a fairly high level of intensity. It consists of 12 DVDs with each of them containing a different workout. Each of the 12 DVDs contains a different workout that lasts approximately 60 minutes. The 60 minutes includes some warm-up and cool-down exercise.

You also note that the supplementary Ab Ripper X which lasts for 16 minutes. This is plenty long. Yoga X lasts for 92 minutes. The other workouts include Chest and Back, Plyometric, Shoulders and Arms, Legs and Back, Core Synergistic, Chest Shoulders and Triceps, Back and Biceps, Cardio X and X Stretch.

What P90X lean doesn’t help in?

I had tried it but what I came to learn later was that I was waiting for the wrong results-a mistake that most of the people do. This program is not a weight loss program, it is more of a “fat loss” program.

For this reason, you need to have realistic expectations. While doing a P90X lean workout, you may maintain your current weight or even add more depending on your current body composition. This is what seems to freak people out especially the women.

Men are lucky, muscles weigh more than fat. Muscle takes on less space than fat does and is more attractive. The best way to help you lose weight is to replace fat with muscles, which is not so into women.

However, it is good to think that most men have some fat on their body that they would like to shed off. P90X lean can help you with this.

So can this program give you the body shape you have been looking for?

If you take a look at before and after photos of some of the participants that Beach Body took during the test, a majority of the men and women had a good shape to start with. What I am trying to say here is that whether this program can help you get the shape you want depends on several factors.

I don’t know about your body shape when you are starting but the results are appealing if done the right way. It’s definitely not the way you will look like on day one and the last day. Am not saying that this program cannot help you in any case. It is a good program but you should ensure your expectations are realistic.

This is especially the case if you have a lot of body fat. P90X can get you close to your fitness goals but it may not be ultimately the case of what you expect.

The other thing is that if fewer pounds of fat stands between how you look today and how you want to look tomorrow, then P90X will definitely help you and give you significant results.

However, if you have a lot of fat standing between what you want and what you have now, then you already have a long way to go, and if you want to lose a lot of weight, the detoxification programs are certainly more effective at the beginning.

Most of the people who have tried this program don’t already have the body shape of their dreams but they can testify that they achieved something.

I also have to say that what you eat and how persistent you get with the program determines the results you eventually get. If you stick with it and eat well, then the results will be appealing. For some people, the results may take more than just 90 days.

Merits

The obvious merit is that this program works. But this is only if you want to see a reasonable result.

If you weigh almost 100 kg and wants to be 60 kg within 3 months, this is obviously unreasonable. With the program, you can lose at least 15-20 kg but not faster than in 90 days. This is what P90X lean will do for you.

I have a friend who tried P90X lean and the results were not what she really wanted but were significant. She actually looks fitter than she was but not as much as she wanted, because she gained some muscle mass. Her ultimate goal was to get a slimmer figure and not to get a muscular body at the same time. And this is what I was talking about all along.

However, if your expectations are realistic, then P90X is the program for you.

There’s no single muscle of your body that gets ignored. Even though in a real sense there’s no cardio, your hearts and lungs will get involved. Upper, middle, and lower body will also take part.

There’s nothing that is overlooked although some more attention is paid in some parts than others. This program also goes beyond paying lip service.

Cons

If you are not ready in some way, you probably will not get the real results. For a man, why don’t you do up to 20 pushups and maybe five pull-ups to attract the results you want?

If this is not the case, you will definitely not get the desired results. Not only most of the workouts are superfluous but you will find yourself feeling defeated compared to the animals in the videos.

As I have already stated, the answer to whether this program works or not depends on your expectations. If your expectations are higher than what the product can offer, then I can assure you will not like it.

The other thing is that you are supposed to supplement this program by either managing what you eat or even getting to the GYM. People who have tried it some time back have varying comments depending on what they got and what their expectations were.
