30 Day Transformation Challenge

My 30 Day Transformation for a Fit Summer Body

We keep all our resolutions for the New Year occasion, but if you want to make a healthy diet resolution, then summer is the ideal time for that. Summer is the time when you get all the vegetables and lean meats – fresh from the farm. And can you ignore the chance of showing off that perfect ab in a sexy bikini on a sunny beach vacation? Of course, that’s a great motivation; however, it’s not just all about your looks. Summer is the perfect time to start from the scratch all over again, starting with following a unique diet recommended by famous nutritionists (more on that in a minute) and then following up with an exercise schedule, carefully laid out by some of the who’s who in the fitness industry. First, let’s talk about the “30-day transformation magic diet program”, yes, we call it that way.

30-day transformation magic diet program

I’ll tell you all about it, how to follow the diet and what you should and shouldn’t eat – but before that, let me tell you what makes this diet different than others. This specific diet works two ways. First, in this diet, you’ll have to focus on the farm-fresh ingredients only, no frozen or packaged food will be allowed. Secondly, there is no place for things like dairy, processed carbs, grains, sugar, and alcohol. The philosophy behind this diet is “back to nature” and the focus of this diet is “eliminating everything that kills you from within.”

Get back to nature diet

You may ask while eliminating sugar and alcohol seems fine, but how come grains and dairy managed to get in this list as the evil? Let me explain that from a fitness perspective.

You have heard of proteins are essential for muscle building, fats (the good kind, not trans fats) are good for our body, vitamins are needed for various crucial functioning of our system – have you ever heard of something like “essential carb?” Contrary to popular belief, carbs are flat out bad for our system. Yes, I have considered the “whole grain” too! Whole grain is nothing but “not so bad” carb, but it’s still bad, if you want to lose weight, period.

While carb is a definite evil, dairy is a complex thing, and controversial too. Health practitioners are clearly divided into two groups when they talk about dairy. Few recommend dairy as an essential source of diverse nutrients when others consider it full of ingredients which are responsible for various chronic and lifestyle diseases.

But let’s keep those controversies aside and let’s focus on a more important question, that is – is dairy a natural food for the human being? Dairy was included into our food list when we started being civil, we started forming the society, we started agriculture to grow our food on the field instead of hunting the animal and having the raw fruit from the jungle.

Dairy was introduced to our food chain when we become an agricultural society, it is actually an indication that human becomes lazy at that point of civilization. Humans considered dairy to be a ready food which is easy to collect (from farm animals), need no cooking or preparing, and have all the nutrients human need.

While it’s true that dairy is full of essential nutrients like calcium and fat, it’s also full of ingredients which may cause or can be linked with several diseases like cancer, type-2 diabetes, heart disease, obesity, Parkinson’s disease, etc. The nutrients dairy offers can be obtained from other sources easily, hence dairy is not at all necessary.

Find out what makes you fat

The reason why we eliminate all those carbs, dairy, alcohol, etc. is to determine exactly what food is responsible for everything you feel not good in your body. You probably don’t have gluten intolerance or lactose intolerance, but it’s still necessary to get rid of all those grains, dairy, etc. for the next 30 days in order to follow this diet.

Being overweight is not just a simple problem, it’s actually a symptom of many underlying problems in your body. Obesity is very closely linked with every kind of lifestyle disease. Therefore, it’s important to find out what food is the culprit behind this.

Of course, there’s more than just some food and you need to follow the exact exercise schedule which I’ll tell you soon, but we have to start with our choice of foods.

Once you start this diet, you’ll start feeling internal changes, like your blood pressure will start to normalize, sugar levels will be more regulated, and energy level will be boosted up. So, let’s begin, shall we?

The main 30-day transformation magic diet rules you absolutely must not break

First thing first, if you want to follow this diet successfully, there can’t be an exception. You either follow whatever the rule says, or you just don’t do it. This diet is for those who can say “no” to something strictly. If the rule says you have to stop eating this, then you must stop that – at once. There is no scope of any “gradual reducing” of anything. Stop means stop, not to reduce.

Just think of it this way – it’s hard to reduce something you crave for gradually, it simply doesn’t work. Our willpower has immense capability to say “no” to something, you just need to make use of that. In short, you need to follow the rules mentioned below and need to follow them religiously – for 30 days straight.

rules of the diet
  1. 1. Absolutely no sugar at all. Avoid not only the natural forms of sugar, like white cane sugar, brown sugar, jaggery, honey, etc. but also the artificial or industrial sugar alternatives. Before buying anything from grocery stores, make sure you read the labels carefully. Many other foods and supplements contain sugar. Like a few brands of protein supplementary, or health drinks have added sugar in them. So, just avoid them.
  1. 2. Rule #2 is for alcohol; neither having a sip nor using for cooking is acceptable…
  1. 3. Eliminate any shape and form of grains from your table for the next 30 days. Not only the grains in their original forms (like rice, wheat, corn, etc.) but anything made from grains or any food where grain is added as an ingredient (like noodles, pasta, etc.).
  1. 4. Eliminate any kind of legumes. It includes any type of beans, soy (soy or anything made from soy like tofu, soybean oil, etc.), peas, etc.
  1. 5. Get rid of dairy products as well, which includes, milk (milk from any farm animal like cow, goat, sheep, etc.), butter, yogurt, cheese, etc. and any food which is made from dairy products or has any form of dairy products as an ingredient – like ice-cream.
  1. 6. No food additives or preservatives, flavor enhancers such as MSG. Read the label carefully. However, almost all packaged food has some kind of preservatives or additives, therefore it’s better to eat fresh foods only and remove any packaged or frozen foods from your grocery list. Those artificial additives work as a trigger to inflammation.
  1. 7. No junk food at all. Eat only what you cook at home. For 30 days, try to avoid eating out in any restaurant or food joints. No matter how healthy that protein shake or protein bar is, you have to stay clear of those. No pancakes, no brownies or muffins – it doesn’t matter whether they are gluten-free or not, simply avoid them completely.
  1. 8. Last rule here, but an important one. Do not check your weight at all in these 30 days, no matter how tempting it feels. Also do not get yourself tested for anything, unless it’s advised by your physician. So, no weight checking, no body-fat analysis, no lipid profile testing, etc. The numbers often lie. You need to understand that the number is not the last word. This eating plan is not only designed to make you slimmer, but the goal is far broader than that – to make you healthy inside and out. So do not get obsessed with those numbers. It’s not important how many pounds you lost, rather how you feel after following these rules for a 30 days period.

Now, let’s talk about some exceptions you’re allowed to eat/drink in these 30 days. If you want, you can include the following foods in this “30-day transformation magic diet program”.

Some exceptions of 30-day transformation magic diet:

  1. You can include Ghee in your food list. Though Ghee is essentially a dairy product, this doesn’t contain any milk protein hence it’s fine if you want to have it.
  2. You can add vinegar too. Not the ones which are artificially flavored and have sugar in it as an ingredient, but the ones like white vinegar, balsamic vinegar, apple cider vinegar, etc.
  3. You can drink fruit juice in moderation, only if it’s made from fresh ingredients and without added sugar or salt and prepared at home. No packaged fruit juice, only home-made ones.

Once 30th day passed and considering you followed all the rules as mentioned in this period, it’s time to reintroduce those foods to your system and analyze how you feel after each and every addition.

Reintroduce:

  • Day 31st: You can start having alcohol, but make sure it’s the gluten-free one. Like vodka, gin, rum, tequila, gluten-free beer, etc. Have a cocktail or a one or two pegs and be done with it for the day. Then try to perceive how you actually “feel” after having that drink. If you’re not a drinker, that’s the way to go!
  • Day 32-33: In these 2 days, just return to the previous rules and follow them accordingly.
  • Day 34th: You can add in legumes. Make one or two dishes for breakfast or lunch with any legume of your choice. You can add more than one variety of legumes if you want to. And see if you can feel any difference.
  • Day 35-36: Just like day 32-33, back to the main diet with all the rules.
  • Day 37th: On this day you can add any grain or whole grain, again, make sure it’s gluten-free. Just like previous, have one or more than one dish made with any gluten-free grain of your choice. Don’t forget to notice any difference in your feeling.
  • Day 38-39: Back to the rules again.
  • Day 40th: It’s the dairy day, so feel free to have that yogurt or a baked potato with some veggies dressed with butter and cheese. And once you had that lip-smacking buttery delight, try to evaluate if you’re feeling anything unusual.
  • Day 41-42: Back to the basic.
  • Day 43rd: Today you can have any grain with gluten. Such as pasta, noodles, white bread, etc. anything you like and check the reaction of your physical system.
  • Day 44th: Now you’re done, you can have any food from today onwards. Probably you have already identified a particular food or ingredient that has caused your body to react uncomfortably. Just make sure to exclude that one from your table forever.

One more thing to remember. With this 30-day transformation challenge, you probably got yourself free from sugar addiction. So, try not to reintroduce that in your routine again.
